Festive Holt 2025 is approaching, and it’s going to be merrily magnificent!
A celebration of Christmas and community will take place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th November, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend.
After a couple of challenging years and the abrupt closure of the Holt Lights committee, some hard-working volunteers made our town merry last year. This festive season, a group of local businesses and residents have joined forces to rebuild Holt’s Christmas lights switch-on as Festive Holt, building on the foundations set in 2024. Thanks to their tireless efforts, and to the team at Bakers & Larners, who kept the ball rolling, our town will be sparkling yet again this year.
Friday is launch day! The lights will be switched on at 3:30pm, and to mark the occasion, many shops will stay open until 7–8pm for special late-night shopping. Expect fundraising games, entertainment, and activities around town, along with delicious food stalls in Bakers’ Yard.
On Saturday, the merriment continues with more fun and fundraising planned. Donations will go towards next year’s celebrations, most notably the two large Christmas trees at either end of the High Street. Any excess funds will be donated to local charities.
And on Sunday, the Holt Sunday Market team will round off the weekend by holding an extra Christmas Market. The High Street will be brimming with stalls, while the yards and streets will be bustling with festive cheer, bringing out the best in our local businesses.
The Festive Holt celebrations may not be the large-scale, crowded events of years gone by. However, they’ll focus on bringing locals together, supporting our fantastic independent businesses, and celebrating the community spirit that’s so uniquely strong in Holt.
